Deflou Animales, a framed diptych and dual-screen corner cave video, reflect the indexical,  interconnectedness of walrus and humans as species vulnerable to the impacts of the climate crisis. The photographs show ghosting images of each while the video installation sets the slow movement of a herd of walrus undulating in a snowstorm alongside footage of human figures moving across and eventually disappearing into the barren Arctic landscape (shot on Moffen Island situated 80°parallel in the Svalbard Territory). The intentional noise of the footage subversively points to implications of bearing witness through mediating technologies.
